My hair is really straight and it doesn't curl?

My hair is an inch below shoulder length and it naturally straight. I still straightening in with a iron because of the little bumps from sleeping. Most people get them, anway. I want to curl my hair but It never works. I used a curling iron but it just does a funky wave. I wish I could get my hair to curl like Christina Aguilera's. It's so pretty and I just want it to look like that. When I do want it curly, I braid it when my hair is wet, then when i take it out it's in waves, not curls. I don't want waves, I want big curls. Please help me!

Try rollers with your hair wet over night or the heated ones and use a good hair spray after I LOVE FREEZE IT!

ok my hair is natural curly but i straighen it every day b/c i dont like it that way and when i want to have it curled i use this got-to-be heat activated spray it works first you sray it on your hair then you curl it and it last at least a day or two even if you comb it out.

Use hot rollers. But there are additional steps:

1. spray your hair with hairspray or use a extra hold mousse

2. roll hair in rollers %26amp; let them cool completely

3. spray your hair with hairspray before taking curlers out

4. wait until spray dries

5. carefully remove curlers and do NOT comb or brush - just use your fingers to arrange the curls into place

6. spray again

I have the same problem as you and my sister in law who is a hairdresser helped me out. First you need a ceramic curling iron. 1/2 inch max. You also need ultra hold hairspray and some elastics and most importantly much much patience.

First start by tying up the top to only have about 1/8 thick layer at the bottom. Then hairspray a strand. Put the curling iron into it. Hold for 8-10 seconds. release. Add more hairspray. Next strand. Hairspray, curl, release, more hairspray. It's a long process but being able to see yourself with nice curly hair is great. If you don't want the frizz, straight iron everything first. That's pretty much it.

hi! I also have very staight %26amp; fine hair. my advise to you is first make sure its not too long. keep it right below your shoulder. Then get some layer. on the top layers hold the hair out and spary wit ha GOOD hairspray, then curl in a spiral curl, hold for at least 20 seconds. Keep doing it around, then the bottom you can do the same tihng, or just curl under. it will look very nice!
