Permed hair?

Okay, i have medium brown hair.... and it's a medium length.. I am wanting to dye my hair Dark red.. and then get it permed with large curls.. question is.. how bad is perming your hair for you. and.. how easy is it to take care of? Is it realy hard to straighten if you want to that day??? and.. can you ask for big curls.. instead of doing it with tiny ones??

Permed hair?

If you get a good stylist or a chemical tech the perm will not do a whole lot of damage and you will have a very nice perm. I wouldn't trust this to a 'head first' type salon.

You most defiantly can get a color and perm, and get a larger curl. Get your perm first, reds fade extremly fast and because a perm would fade even black color (the most fade resistant) it will probably take the red right out. Wait for about a week to two weeks depending on your hair and stylist recommendation and then get her to color your hair. This will keep the perm and color in your hair.

It should be no harder to straighten than it is for you to curl it at the moment.

Permed hair?

as long as you wait about 2 weeks between getting your hair colored and permed you will be fine.....and if your getting larger perm rods rather then small ones it should but hard to straighten your hair.......the perm will help give your more body and texture if your hair is finer

best of luck

Permed hair?

My friend has her hair permed and it looks really nice, but it was quite damaging to her hair, some of her hair went slightly frizzy. If you semi permanently straighten your hair after you permed it, it will work because perming it chemically alters the DNA in your hair. If you dye your hair, remember to use coloured hair shampoo and conditioner. Sure you can perm your hair with big curls!

Permed hair?

some actually improve growth and make it healthy. but if you leave it in too long then it will damage it. make sure if you do get one, get one with no lye. it makes your hair really manageable.
