I have naturally curly hair and it takes me forever to straighten it with a flat iron....I just dont have time in the morning....so I end up with this big frizzy mess.....or I get the "wet" look if I put anything in it.....any suggestions? I have wanted to try the straightening kits that they sell at Walmart but I am afraid it will ruin my hair. I have coloured hair...will this affect the results? HELP!
Has anyone tried hair relaxing systems at home??
DON NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT RELAX YOUR HAIR YOURSELF!!!! esp. for the first time. you must go to a professional stylist or your hair will wind up in the kitchen sink. they know what to do for first timers and have the hair care products for after your relaxer. this is a chemical you're dealing with honey. please be careful :)

I would say you should go to a hair shop, but if you had to do it at home motions relaxer's are the best. I had hair just like yours and used motions to correct it.

if you can buy loreal x-tenso hair rebonding kit (DIY). comes with a tube of rebonding cream and a bottle of sanitising cream. i bot mine from ebay. Initially i did mine at salon but for touch up after few months i do myself.. As long you follow instructions and the time to leave the chemical on. It would neva be a problem.

sweety i have been using those hair kits for ten years now, and my hair is of african background, unless you decide to put your hair under constant strain and extreme heat, you sould be fine, and also remember to condition your hair every 1-2 weeks,,, trust me your will stay great if you look after it great...hope this helps

I agree with Jah-Renee... listen to what she said.
If you're not ready to put your hair through a relaxer, blow-dry your hair with a vent brush. It'll make your hair super straight, that way you dont have to do much straightening.
Vent brushes are sold at all beauty supply store and drugstores. they are the brushes that have plastic seperated bristles with open slits in the back of the brush. Place the blow-dryer behind the vent brush and blow dry your hair in different directions. Like if you are blow-drying the right side of your head, blow dry up for a few strokes, then blow dry down. This is the easiest way to get your hair straight without using a relaxer.
