How do I make my hair look more professional?

I don't really have a pro job, just a gas station while I'm at school. But I'm 25 and I feel like high schoolers that come in have nicer hair then I do. I need some ideas. I normally just tie my hair up in a pony tail, but have a problem with "fly aways" and friz. I'm not a big fan of leaving it down, it gets warm and in my way. I don't spend a long time on my hair, I'm kinda a wash and go person. So, any ideas? Thanks.

If you braid your hair at night, and un-braid it in the morning it would have a wavy look to it, then after you take out the braids put it in a pony tail thats low in the back

Or you can make a part from ear to ear leave the back down and put the top in a pony tail, roll it up and have spikes coming out the top

Also you can make one of those "hump" at the top-front of your head and then you can put the rest in of your hair in a pony tail, if you braid it first it may look even cuter. I wear my hair like to work and to go out, and its really cute.

i just told another about this !!! take a pair of socks about the same color as ur hair cut the toes out put oneinside the other and roll it tight like a donut slide ur hair thru like a ponytail spread around the sock wrap a rubber band around it and tuck the flyaways back with bobby pins it is neat professional yet cute!!! i do this when i dont have time to fix my hair and get so many compliments and ?s on how i did it so neat!!!

I disagree with all those girls who repsonded. When You wash your hair use conditioner. Also from time to time do yourself a favor and get a hot oil treatment. Plus daily you can use what they call Hair Shine (Something like that) Get it at any salon that will really give your hair a nice active youth shine. My wife used it once and it turned me on because her hair looked so much better.
